![]() Akshay Kumar, coming out in support of Mahendra Singh Dhoni after the India captain received criticism over his bad performance in the Australia series, said everyone has to face good and bad phases in life. “Dhoni, don`t worry, true lovers of Indian cricket are behind you in every step of the way man. Everyone`s gotta hit Rock Bottom, it`s the only way one can storm it back to the Top… just think about the series, day by day, dear friend. Everything else comes later dude… (sic),” the 44-year-old posted on micro-blogging site Twitter. “Everyone let`s back the Boyz we love so much, come on, none of us are perfect at our jobs everyday of the month, it`s support they need not criticism. Do what you can Boyz, India`s waiting for you & always with you,” he further posted. India lost the third test against Australia by an innings and 37 runs in Perth Sunday and before that they faced a whitewash in England last year. The bad performance on the field has upset the cricket fans and others who are blaming Dhoni`s laid-back attitude for the losses.
| Bayern to investigate Breno remarks Posted: 17 Jan 2012 03:24 AM PST
Bayern to investigate Breno remarksBayern Munich are looking into the authenticity of remarks believed to have been made by Breno online in which he complains of being sent to play for the reserve team at the weekend. The Brazilian defender was left out of the first-team squad for their 4-0 friendly win over Rot-Weiss Erfurt and instead had to play for the second string in a friendly match. The accusations of being messed around by Bayern have since been removed from the internet, but not before the club’s director of sport Christian Nerlinger spotted them, and he has vowed to investigate. “Players should never be making such remarks, that is unfortunate,” he told Bavarian television. “Professionals must act responsibly on social network sites. I will only comment further when I have personally spoken to Breno.” Until the authenticity of the comments can be confirmed, Bayern are not jumping to any conclusions about a player they have supported through a difficult period recently. Breno, 22, was arrested on suspicion of arson after his house in Munich burnt down late last year before being released on bail.

| Cech: Failure not an option for Blues Posted: 16 Jan 2012 03:37 PM PST
Cech: Failure not an option for BluesPetr Cech has insisted Chelsea’s season of transition is no excuse for them ending up empty-handed after seeing their squad bolstered by further reinforcements. The past 48 hours have seen the Blues boosted both by the signing of Gary Cahill and the even more eagerly-anticipated return of Michael Essien from injury. Cahill was the fourth major capture of the Andre Villas-Boas era as the Portuguese continues his rebuilding job at Stamford Bridge, one that has witnessed plenty of teething problems. And while Villas-Boas bids to ensure Chelsea have adequate long-term replacements for the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, he will still be expected to win something. The Blues have never gone two successive seasons without lifting a trophy since Roman Abramovich bought the club and goalkeeper Cech said: “We set a standard in recent years, and that’s the way it is at a big club – especially here. “We want, ourselves, to win something. We don’t want to go another season without trophies, so our aim is to end this season with silverware. “We’re doing everything in our power to achieve that, alongside the transformation and transition of the team. I think it will be a good year to build on for the future.” Cech sees similarities between Chelsea and the Czech Republic team he represents. “I’ve lived this in the last few years with the Czech national team,” he added. “We had two generations of players who basically retired at the same time, and it takes time to recover. “It took us nearly three years to rebuild the team and now we are grateful that we managed to qualify for the Euros. “That is a big achievement as a result with such a new team. “You can see this team, there have been changes in recent years because you can’t stop players ageing. “It’s normal in a top club that people change. We changed the manager and a bit of the philosophy, so it needs time.” Essien’s return will help smooth the transition, while Cahill will be expected to improve a defence which has been uncharacteristically brittle this season. “They’ll basically be two new players for us,” Cech said. “It’s been a tough time for Michael, getting injured again and again, and the cruciate ligament is not what you wish on any footballer. “So big credit to the medical staff and especially to Michael for getting back so soon. It’s great to have him back. “With Gary, he’s an international defender, an English defender, and you always welcome internationals into the fold because it improves the squad.” Saturday’s 1-0 Barclays Premier League win over Sunderland was Essien’s first appearance of the season, following his latest bout of knee surgery last summer. Cech said: “It’s a great moment for everybody to have him back, not only because he’s a great guy but now we have more numbers and more options. “Any footballer who’s been injured, two weeks out is already enough. “He’s been out for more than half a year, so that’s obviously difficult. “So give him more credit for coming back again. Nobody wants to see a player injured and he was unlucky, but he’s a very strong guy, mentally and physically, which is why he was able to come back again.”
| Siddique Won’t Cast Any Khans For Upcoming Project Posted: 16 Jan 2012 10:23 AM PST
![]() Siddique Won’t Cast Any Khans For Upcoming Project Guess what? The director of Bollywood's biggest hit in 2011 is not interested in casting any of the three big Khans for his next mega project. But it's nothing personal — the Khans simply don't fit the bill in Siddique's upcoming mega budget love and action thriller that will have Mumbai as the main character. The director, who directed the Bollywood monster hit Bodyguard starring Salman Khan and the Tamil version Kaavalan starring Vijay, will complete his new mega project in 2012 itself. " I am presently working on the project. I will be leaving for Mumbai in the next few days," he said, "There will be neither Shah Rukh, Aamir or Salman Khan in my next project. I have not finalised the cast, but it will not be any of the three," he said. "Salman Khan was in my mind when I thought of making Bodyguard in Hindi. For the upcoming project, I have decided to cast stars after having a series of discussions," Siddique added that the film will have a prominent Bollywood star in the lead. "The aesthetics of Bollywood viewers are different. They don't like highly emotional subjects. They enjoy watching romantic and action movies," he said. So, is he planning to set up base in Bollywood? "I will not be relocating to Mumbai. I will return once my work is over," he said. Incoming search terms:
