 Karan Johar stands by Kareena, but it’s Katrina for Ekta Kapoor. So, who will win in the war that follows? Buzz is that Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar are having a slight disagreement over whom to cast as the leading lady for their next project. KJo stands by the ‘in-house heroine of Dharma Productions’, Kareena Kapoor. But Ekta is not very happy with his choice. Kareena might be the Numero Uno heroine in Bollywood, but she isn’t hot enough for Ekta, who is vouching for haute and happening Katrina Kaif. Also, according to Ekta, Kat has a good relationship with Lady Luck (that Bebo lacks?) that might work better for the project. No, we are not hinting at any fallouts here. Ekta doesn’t mind working with Kareena. In fact, Bebo is even part of the sequel of Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. But the hotness quotient is not the sole reason for the difference in opinion, we believe. Our calculating minds have come up with a new theory: we fear that Kareena’s choc-a-block date diary might not have space for this one and Ekta knows that. With Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Heroine and her impending marriage plans, Bebo’s plate seems to be too full for another job. Not an ideal choice for the ultra-professional and always-in-a-hurry lady Ekta Kapoor, who doesn’t like lingering on a project for too long, no? On the other hand, Katrina is going to be available, once Ek Tha Tiger and her just-started film with Shahrukh Khan is done with. And the Chameli gal is riding pretty high on popular lists, so will be a selling point in any new movie for a while. Way to go, Ekta! Boxing: Bellew to take on McIntoshColdwell Boxing have won the purse bids for Tony Bellew’s light-heavyweight clash with Danny McIntosh. Promoter Dave Coldwell hopes to stage the light-heavyweight in Bellew’s home city of Liverpool, with a date still to be confirmed. “I’ve known Tony Bellew since he first started his professional journey, and it is an honour to work with him on this particular fight,” said Coldwell. “He’s very popular in his home city of Liverpool and, above all else, he’s an easy going and personable guy. Tony knows how to promote a fight and he’s hungry to reach the top.” British and Commonwealth champion Bellew, 29, is 16-1 as a professional and has halted 10 of his beaten foes within the scheduled distance. Last October, he made an unsuccessful attempt at snatching Nathan Cleverly’s WBO world light-heavyweight crown as he lost on points. Challenger McIntosh, meanwhile, is a loose and languid boxer with a number of standout championship wins to his name. Born in Norwich, McIntosh, 13-2 (7 KO), turned professional in April 2005, eventually winning an English light-heavyweight title in just his eighth bout. Quickly earmarked as one to watch, McIntosh scored back-to-back stoppage wins over respected domestic operators Steve Spartacus, Rod Anderton and Matthew Barney, before losing a spirited effort against Cleverly for the British and Commonwealth titles in July 2009. Stopped in seven rounds, the loss marked McIntosh’s first as a pro. McIntosh responded strongly to the setback, halting veteran swarmer Tony Oakey inside two rounds in his very next fight. He then went one better in January 2011, knocking out home favourite Thierry Karl in the 11th round of a championship clash in France to take the European light-heavyweight title. The 31-year-old’s reign as EBU champion would, ultimately, be short-lived as he lost the title to Eduard Gutknecht in his next bout. “Danny McIntosh is also a great kid, and someone who knows how to promote himself,” added Coldwell. “He is a big personality with a big punch and, combined with Tony Bellew, I really couldn’t ask for a better couple of headliners. These two were made for the big stage.” |

After nearly two years of negotiation, discussion, trials and delays Arjun Rampal's perfume is ready to be launched in Mumbai on January 12. Called Alive, Arjun's perfume in two different scents to begin with, is produced by Drom Fragrances International, one of the largest most pre-eminent perfume manufacturers in the world. The perfume line will be distributed by the largest distribution chain called Baccarose who distribute Burberry, Cartier, Caroline Herrera, Azzaro, Alizabeth Arden, Ferrari, Prada, etc. So far, only two other Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have perfumes to their credit, handpicked, manufactured and marketed by them. It took Arjun more than six months to select the fragrance for his perfume. Reliving the experience, Arjun says, "Selecting a fragrance for a perfume is an extremely time-consuming and tough task. It took me six months to do so. One can't allot more than three hours a day to savoring scents because after that your sense of smell goes for a toss. I had to continue trying the fragrance and in-between I had to dunk my head into pots of coffee to stop my olfactory senses from shutting down. But you know what? It's finally all been worth it." After Arjun had finally short listed the fragrances, he invited all his friends from the film industry for a smelling party. "And unanimously they all liked the best the two fragrance that I had selected .Those are the two scents that have gone into the two perfumes that I am putting out," says Arjun happily. When asked about the poor success ratio of Bollywood's denizens in the field of fragrance, Arjun says, "I've done my best. Picked the scents that I think are unique and likable. I personally am very fond of perfumes. I think they give every individual a sense of confidence and an identity. I am hoping to increase my range of perfumes in the coming months." The unsuspecting Demi faithful were on line for her concert at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, when the 2012 People’s Choice Awards performer rolled up in an eighteen-wheeler to show off the Unbroken track. Sporting a Debbie Gibson-esque bowler hat over her luxurious red locks and equally bold crimson lips, Demi gave the shrieking crowd an upbeat teaser taste of that night’s show.
