 Filmmaker Madhur Bhndarkar asserts that Kareena Kapoor`s performance in his latest project ‘Heroine’ is not only fabulous; it will also be a shocker for her fans.
“Her character Mahi Arora is very contemporary, very edgy, very hard-hitting and very real like my other cinema. Kareena will definitely be a shock-element to the people because of the way she has worked in the film,” the 43-year-old producer-director said at the launch of photographer Dabboo Ratnani`s calendar. “I am looking at the film because I know the story, I know the screenplay, I know the dialogues. She will be fabulous,” he added. Known for films like ‘Chandni Bar’, ‘Satta’, ‘Page 3’, ‘Traffic Signal’ and ‘Fashion’, Bhandarkar believes ‘Heroine’ will be a milestone in Kareena`s career. ” `Heroine` is 25 percent over. The next schedule is in February, March and April and the picture will release in September. The way you people are waiting for the film, so am I. I hope it finishes really soon,” he said. The director found himself in a tight spot when Aishwarya Rai, the original choice for the film, decided to quit the project due to her pregnancy. Rugby: Mulipola earns Leicester dealLeicester Tigers have awarded a full-time contract to Samoan international Logovi’i Mulipola following his trial period at the club. The prop arrived with the squad in November and made appearances with the Tigers A team before making his full debut against Wasps on Saturday. The 24-year-old featured in the club’s 29-11 victory in the Aviva Premiership at Welford Road and has continued to impress Tigers’ boss Richard Cockerill, resulting in a permanent deal which the club wish to extend to next season. “He has raw talent and arrived a couple of stone heavier than he is now,” the coach told the Leicester Mercury. “He can play at tight head and loose head, and props who can play on both sides of the scrum, can carry the ball well and are big men, are very hard to find. “He is very raw but will get better with us.” With the Six Nations imminent, both England’s Dan Cole and Italy’s Martin Castrogiovanni are expected to report for international duty, leaving the Tigers’ tight head place open for Mulipola to compete for.  Bollywood 'Ghost' Horrifies Censor Board The on-release Shiney Ahuja starrer Ghost has received the full censorial treatment. Apparently, its excessive gore-content prompted the censor board to make severe cuts. A particularly objectionable scene showing a female ghost's crucifixion has also been censored. Says the film's director Puja Jatinder Bedi, "The censor board cut one of the most important scenes in my film. It's a scene where the ghost gets crucified like Jesus Christ. The scene was very pivotal for the screenplay."  Said Mr. Singh, "That scene is still there in the film. Only its length has been shortened to reduce the impact of the extreme brutality shown on a girl. The examining committee has given 5-6 cuts. All of them were extremely brutal. There was scene showing a dead body's legs being cut. Another excessively violent scene showed a girl being beaten for a very long time by many people." Finally Ms. Bedi feels the cuts were not unjustified. "The censor board felt that the crucifixion would hurt religious sentiments of the Christian community. Also, the brutality was being perpetrated on a woman. The blood and gore content is high enough for Ghost to be rated as the most violent film ever. So the censors have toned down all the murder sequences."  | ||

Koscielny: Henry trains like he’s 20Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny revealed that Thierry Henry is like a man on a mission in training and is a great example to follow. Henry has been training with the Arsenal squad since the MLS season ended in November and sensationally returned to Arsenal on loan for two months. On his return debut, Henry came off the bench to score the winning goal in the Gunners’ 1-0 FA Cup win over Leeds. Koscielny was evidently impressed by Henry’s work ethic in training, praising his fellow Frenchman on Arsenal’s official website. He said: “He is leading by example, we saw it on Monday night.At training, he runs everywhere. It’s like he is 20 years old. “It’s thanks to players like him that we all improve. He is one of the greatest players to have played football and the squad needs to look up to him in the next two months to improve. “Maybe he has missed the atmosphere here, at the Club and the stadium. We can see at training that he plays like if he was 20 and as if he had just broken into the first team. “He wants to score, to help the team and to improve.” Henry, whose actual age is 34, was voted Arsenal’s Greatest Player by fans and had his statue erected outside the Emirates Stadium as a part of the club’s 125th anniversary celebrations. |
