 After courting severe backlash for her controversial nude photo shoot with FHM magazine, Pakistani starlet Veena Malik has mysteriously gone missing from her Mumbai residence. Apparently, Veena’s business manager Prateik Mehta and filmmaker Hemant Madhukar revealed that Veena is untraceable since the morning of December 16. Veena was shooting for a horror flick ‘Mumbai 125 kilometres’ in Goregoan (West) before disappearing. Talking to a daily, Hemant said, “Veena, without giving her last shot at 5 am for my film ‘Mumbai 125 kilometres’, suddenly disappeared from her vanity van. Her mobile too was not reachable I assumed that the actress was tired and left for home.” However, Hemant received an SMS from Veena, which disclosed that the actress was depressed and unwell. After almost twelve hours of the incident, Prateik and Hemant discovered that Veena was missing. “Today we had a couple of shots with Veena but I realised that her phones are still switched off and she has also not communicated with her manager since then which is indeed serious. Veena normally is very chirpy and full of life on the sets but from past few days she looked depressed. Hope she is fine.” added Hemant. Agger: We all made a differenceLiverpool centre back Daniel Agger has insisted that Liverpool’s impressive shut-out statistics are due to a collective effort by the team. The Reds have conceded only 13 goals in 16 Premier League matches so far, with an additional four clean sheets in their last seven games. While Kenny Dalglish was full of praise for Agger and his fellow partner Martin Skrtel, the 27-year-old believed that the entire squad deserved recognition for their efforts. “We enjoy playing alongside each other,” Agger said. “I think Martin and I understand each other well and we complement each other well. “We feel good together and it is important that, as a central defender, you feel that way. It was a great header from Martin (at Villa) and he’s doing really well. “But, to be honest, the whole team has defended well. It’s not only about us. Everyone has made a difference. “There is plenty of competition in the squad and that is the way it should be at Liverpool Football Club.” Recently returning in September after recovering from a cracked rib inflicted at Tottenham, Agger has not disappointed fans with spectacular performances. The Danish footballer has now set his eyes on playing an instrumental part in Liverpool’s bid for success in 2012. “I’m not thinking about my fitness anymore,” Agger said. “I won’t say that I’m happy for every game I play but I really give everything in every game and see how long it lasts. That’s the way to do it now. “The whole team takes pride in clean sheets – if you keep one then it’s easier to win. “If we keep on playing like this, we will win a lot of games. Of course we can get back into the top four but there is a lot of work to do. “We could have scored more goals against Villa but as long as we are winning we should be happy. “We always say the Christmas period is crucial and it’s about getting as many points as you can.” Liverpool will face Wigan in a Premier League encounter on Wednesday night, with the Reds definitely seeking to rid themselves of their four-year losing streak at the DW Stadium. | |

The first official trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set to be released at around 3am tomorrow morning, and to whet our appetites still further, the film’s official Facebook page has released a new still of Martin Freeman’s Bilbo. There’s not too much to report about the new image, suffice to say that it shows Bilbo looking bright-eyed and bushy tailed in the middle of his quest. The more eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that Martin Freeman is sporting a very similar jacket and waistcoat ensemble as Ian Holm did in The Fellowship Of The Ring. It’s that kind of attention to detail that puts Peter Jackson and his team in a class of their own. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for that trailer so we can have it with you as soon as possible. Officially, it’s not set to land until the small hours of tomorrow morning, but these things often have a way of arriving early… The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is released in the UK on 14 December 2012.  Delay in Heroine Movie Due to Saif-Kareena Wedding? His first Heroine (Ash) was expecting a baby and had to go on maternity leave, temporarily halting the shoot of the film. And now Madhur Bhandarkar's lead actress is getting married, which again alters the plans for his ambitious project. Mumbai Mirror has learnt that even before the current schedule of Heroine can end, the second leg of the shoot has been rescheduled as Kareena is to wed her beau Saif Ali Khan around the same time. A friend of the director revealed to us that the second schedule, initially slated to start from the end of January, has been pushed ahead to the middle of February. The film's producer Siddharth Roy Kapoor of UTV, who had announced last week that the next schedule of Heroine was to commence "from the end of February to April-May" and then later stated the change in the filming dates, refrained from divulging any further details. When contacted, Bhandarkar also confirmed the change in schedule, saying, "Yes, the second schedule of Heroine will now start in the middle of February instead of the end of January." Bhandarkar's friend explained, "The idea is to complete the second schedule by the middle of March instead of the end of April, so that Kareena can attend to her wedding and personal life in March and April before she returns to work in May." According to the director's friend, Kareena was reluctant to take a break in the middle of the schedule for her wedding. "There is a reason why this decision has been taken. The plan is to complete the schedule, so that Kareena's performance remains consistent and doesn't lose the intensity the role demands amidst her wedding plans.
